First ever meeting

The first ever official meeting of executive body of the The Warsakians Foundation was called to order at 1150 am on [5 Feb 2016] in Hostel 7, University of Agriculture by Sulaiman Khan, the Chairman TWF.

Approval of Agenda
The agenda was unanimously approved as distributed.

Approval of Minutes
As this was the first ever official meeting of the executive, so no approval was needed, for there was no previous meeting minutes.

Open Issues

  • The executive body was completed along with their designations.
  • Membership fee was kept as Rs. 500/ only for life members.

New Projects

  • An official website may be launched with domain as www.twf.org.pk as soon as possible.
  • It was discussed mutually that there must be banners in upcoming TWF Meetings with official logo and title on it.

The agenda for next meeting will be decided later.

Adjournment

Meeting with Director CDE & GAD

Meeting with director CDE & GAD team of Executive Body of The Warsakians Foundation comprised of Mr. Sulaiman Khan, Chairman, Mr. Muhammad Kashif Aakash, President, Mr. Muhammad Asim Khan, General Secretary, Mr. Irfan Haider, Joint Secretary and Marjan Ali Khan held a meeting with the Director of CD & E, GAD Mr. Niaz Ali Khan at the Directorate of Community Development, Extension, Gender and Development, Forest Department Khyber Pahkhtunkhwa.
During the meeting, the Director CD & E, GAD was informed about the Aims and Objectives, Activities and future plans of the foundation. The meeting was focused upon holding a plantation event at Cadet College Warsak, Peshawar under the slogan ‘One Child, One Plant’ in the near future. The meeting also included the discussion about the selection of species of plants and the execution strategy of plantation event.
The team was encouraged and their efforts were appreciated and it was assured to them that the Directorate will facilitate the foundation in all its related interventions in future.

Blood Donation

The Warsakians Foundation marked its first activity where blood was donated to a tribal mother who was in dire need of blood at North West Hospital Peshawar on Monday, February 29, 2016.

TWF Team took the initiative for this good humanistic cause from its executive body members and proved to be a useful foundation of volunteers for the society.

Seven individuals participated in this cause from the platform of TWF among those were The Chairman, The President, The Information Secretary, The Media Coordinator and Event Organizer along with AUP Ambassador and other volunteer members. Through this, TWF wants to encourage the students and youth to fully participate in such good causes.

A short survey for plantation

The official team of Forest Department Khyber Pakhtunkwa comprised of Mr. Zia Ur Rehman, Assistant Director CD & E, GAD, Mr. Jawad Ahmad and Mr. Hidayat Ullah, Foresters Peshawar Division visited Cadet College Warsak on 25th March, 2016 to perform a short survey for plantation along with the team of The Warsakians Foundation comprised of Mr. Sulaiman Khan, Chairman, Mr. Muhammad Kashif Aakash, President, Mr. Muhammad Asim, General Secretary, Mr. Irfan Haider, Joint Secretary and Mr. Omer Javed Qazi, Information Secretary.

The teams were welcomed by Mr. Ashfaq Ahmad, the Senior House Master and Mr. Nadeem Alam, House Master of Jinnah House on behalf of college management. The teams along with college management visited the areas of plantation and surveyed the soil and discussed feasible plants for the area.

During the discussion with college management, the technical team from Forest Department selected species for the area according to the weather and soil. The Assistant Director ensured to supply the species in mean time.

Later on, the teams were given a tea break in college conference room at Administration Block.

The team of Forest Department was departed by Squadron Leader (R) Ikram Ullah Khan, The Vice Principal of Cadet College Warsak after a group photo.

The official meeting of the executive body

The official meeting of executive body of the The Warsakians Foundation was called to order at 1240 pm on 6 March 2016 in Asim’s home near Gul Abad Chowk on  Dalazak Road by Sulaiman Khan, the Chairman TWF.

Sulaiman Khan, Muhammad Kashif Aakash, Muhammad Asim, Irfan Haider, Zubair Gul, Aftab Khan, Omer Javed, Hamza Iftikhar, Muhammad Kamran Rabbi, Imad Ali and Malak Saad were present in this meeting.

The agenda was unanimously approved as distributed.

The minutes of the previous meeting held on 5 Feb, 2016 were approved by all. Open Issues

• International Women Day was introduced along with an open discussion on the importance of International Women Day. It was discussed that the women must get a proper respect in the society. They need to be educated and be involved in decision making for their life. They should be provided with the rights ensured by Islam and Constitution of the State.

• As cleanliness is half of our faith. To create awareness among the individuals of the society regarding the importance of cleanliness, focus was kept on different aspects of this very issue. It was discussed mutually to take concrete steps which may make the members of the society know about how important cleanliness is? New Projects

• A peaceful walk may be arranged on Tuesday, 8th March, 2016 on account of International Women Day at University of Peshawar.

• A campaign may be launched in the near future to create awareness among the people about the importance of cleanliness for a clean and serene environment. Agenda for Next Meeting The agenda for next meeting includes:

• Plan for Agricultural Activities

• Plan for Collection and Distribution of Extra clothes among the needy people.

Meeting with official of Directorate of CDE & GAD

Today, on March 22, 2016, the TWF team held a meeting with officials of Directorate of Community Development, Extension, Gender and Development (CDEGAD) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Forest Department. The team comprised of Chairman, Sulaiman Khan, General Secretary, Muhammad Asim Khan, Joint Secretary, Irfan Haider and Head of Agricultural Activities, Imad Ali reached the office of the Deputy Director CDEGAD and met with Deputy Director CDEGAD, Abid Mumtaz and Community Development Officer Ihsan.
The TWF Team members introduced themselves individually and spoke about the aims and objectives of the foundation. The officials were informed about the activities of TWF and plans for upcoming activities especially in green sector. It was mutually discussed that the foundation will hold a plantation ceremony at a private school/college in near future where each student of that institute will plant one tree as per the slogan titled ‘One Child, One Plant’ as to add to the purity of the environment. It was also brought under discussion to hold a painting exhibition at an institute under the theme ‘Water and Forest’.
Additionally, TWF was encouraged to seek the role of Gender especially of women, in natural resource management so that they may generate their income and improve their livelihoods through different income generation activities.
The team was encouraged and their efforts were appreciated and it was assured to them that the Directorate will facilitate the foundation in all its related interventions in future.
